This series is inspired by our move back to Tucson, Arizona after almost 7 years in D.C. It's about rediscovering the textures and colors here and allowing myself to return to abstraction.

⁠⁠The "neon" (it is actually EL LED wire and attached to a AA battery pack) is inspired by readjusting to the lack of street lights here. Tucson has had light pollution ordinances since 1972 in an effort to provide standards so that night lighting did not interfere with nearby astronomical observatories. It makes for very dark walks after sunset in our neighborhood, but the stars are incredibly bright for a city and on a full moon night, it feels like there's a spotlight in the sky. ⁠
